Starbucks in Austria

Another thing I'd like to find out on my trip is if Starbucks coffee and other chain stores are as popular there as they are here. When I visited France, I noticed that around the city of Paris there was a particular grocery store I saw everywhere(I don't recall the name, but the logo had a strawberry on it).

I'll be sure to record the names of any popular chain stores in Vienna.

  1. Hey! This is a great blog! I hope you get there. My aunt lives in Austria not too for from Vienna and I was there when I was 7 years old (a long time ago in 1981 - I think) and it was BEAUTIFUL. I survived on wieners (really good foot long hot dogs) and orange creamsicles (because when I asked for a hoagie they had no clue what I was talking about!). You will probably won't eat the wieners (I can see you're a vegan from the Paris posts on the other blog), but try the creamsicles (can you eat them? I hope so!). They are sooo wonderfully sweet! I have a cousin who is one month either younger or older (I'm not sure which)so I had someone to hang out with. I went with my Aunt who speaks fluent German (so does my Dad - they are from Yugoslavia originally) and my older sister (who was 14 at the time). It was a great trip & I hope too make it back some day soon. If I ever have any extra money I will make a donation (but that may be well after you've gone & come back). Anyhow - Good luck & great travels!

  2. Thanks for the comment! I don't think I'd be able to eat the creamsicles, since it probably has dairy. When my parents were living in Germany they came across Vegetarian sausages, so I'm hopeful.
